Starting off as a duo, the pair quickly began performing locally to the delight of diverse audiences in and around the Toronto area. The duo later formed a core trio, adding upright bass and drums. The Sean Stanley Trio & Miss Dior cover jazz standards and blues classics with hits of country, rock, and rhythm and blues with a fresh take and unique delivery. Their passionate yet playful, improvisations are thoughtful and distinct, sounding like nobody else. Sean's gritty and soulful voice, paired with his colourful expressions on the piano, will stir up your insides. Sokhna-Dior is a percussionist and singer who enjoys the dance of time and tones. Her vocals have haunting highs and smokey lows, setting an atmosphere reminiscent of Torch singers past. In 2015, the group has performed at venues such as Gate 403, Jazz Bistro, and had a weekly residence at Harlem Restaurant. They were also featured performers in the 2015 TD Jazz Festival, and were selected as 1 of 6 Finalists in the 2015 Toronto Blues Society Talent Search Competition.
