SINTI RHYTHM is an acoustic jazz quartet performing classic swing music with a sophisticated, Continental flavor. Our repertoire includes standards from the Great American Songbook, lesser-known gems from the '20s to the '50s, and the compositions of our chief inspiration, the great guitarist Django Reinhardt. Our (gently amplified) instrumentation is clarinet, lead and rhythm guitars, and string bass, making for a fresh, lighthearted sound and an infectious beat that hearken back to the heyday of classic jazz. It'll provide a sparkling backdrop for the occasion but also reward anyone who wants to listen more closely. If vocals are desired, our clarinetist handles them with an easy touch.
We've played many a wedding--ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception--and other private function. We've also played at the Brooklyn Djangology Festival, the French Cultural Center of Boston, Gore Place Summer Concert Series, Sparrow Park Concert Series, Novartis Corporation and half a dozen public libraries. We've performed at Toad, Cantab Lounge, The Stork Club, and the Sherborn Inn; played several dances for Boston Swing Dance Central; and for more than four years appeared at least once a month at Atwood's Tavern in Cambridge. We've appeared on WMBR-FM and on WBUR's "Here and Now" with Robin Young. To see us in performance, just search for us on YouTube.
When playing a private affair, we take pride in being able to tailor our music to the customer's needs. In other words, we take requests--as long as they're at least somewhat in our wheelhouse. So, no Katy Perry, Kanye West, or Smashmouth, but we've been happy to accommodate brides who wanted to walk down the aisle to Lennon & McCartney, Bach, Pachelbel, and folk songs.
Check out our Gigmasters pages for rave reviews from some of our customers. We'd like to put yours on there, too.
