30 years strong in the art of music, Roussell J White and his group perform for corporate and social organizations throughout the Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Roussell White's easygoing style masks an epic work ethic. Audiences enjoy his band's unique sound that transmits energy and excitement leaving audiences delighted, rejuvenated and satisfied. Overview 30 years strong in the art of music, Roussell performs and records playing Trumpet and Flugelhorn. Additionally, he is classically trained on double b-flat French horn. Roussell has toured and performed with famed artists such as Hall of Fame musician Dave Bartholomew, Paul Hardcastle, ZZ Hill, Lionel Hampton, Diana Ross, the Temptations, and Grammy Nominees “Jazz Hieroglyphics.” He served as the music director for ZZ Hill. You would have seen Roussell perform at Yoshi's in Oakland, the New Orleans Jazz Festivals, the 10th anniversary Art & Soul Festival in Oakland California as well as the San Jose Blues Festival. Educational Background New Orleans native Roussell J White II began his musical education at McDonough 42 Elementary School under the instruction of concert French horn performer Mrs. Wilson. Roussell advanced to Andrew J. Bell Junior High School where he studied trumpet and other brass instruments under the tutelage of the prestigious Mr. Donald Richardson. Roussell completed his high school education at the prestigious St. Augustine High School, well known as an incubator for successful performing talent, under the direction of Mr. Edwin Hampton. Professional Experience 1970 - Present Beginning his professional career during high school, Roussell was a founding member of the R&B/Funk band “Flashback”. His live performances are truly electrifying! Current performances showcase Roussell's vast repertoire of rousing R&B, intimate smooth Jazz styling as well as big band sounds. Roussell has the uniquely talented ability to entertain at any venue for fans of all ages. Roussell J White II has been privileged to perform and record with several New Orleans musicians including Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Bartholomew, Allen Toussaint, The Neville Brothers, Mark Broussard, Tony Hall, Irma Thomas, Marva Wright, Chuck C and Clearly Blue. Roussell has performed and recorded with greats such as Derrick Hall of Allen Temple, Angelo Luster and Kevin Moore.
