George Oakley Ensemble Jazz Band from Kensington, MD

The George Oakley Ensemble is a sophisticated group that has played in the greater Washington metropolitan area for more then thirty years. We are available for Festivals, Weddings, Corporate Events, Retirement Parties, Restaurants and Night Clubs. We play standards from the great musicals by Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern Richard Rogers, Jimmy Van Heusen, George and Ira and many more. We do bossa novas and sambas by the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim. We also do Jazz Classics by Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and more. The Band's size and instrumentation can be modified to perfectly match your entertainment needs. The group can be as small as a duo or as large as a quintet. The instrumentation for The Duo is Guitar and Woodwinds (clarinet, flute and saxophone). To make the larger groups we would add Bass, Drums and a Singer and/or another horn. The Duo and Trio are very versatile and are excellent for small parties in the home or in the garden.
