Elaine Lucia is well-known for her stunning voice and dynamic presence. She has been the opening act for concert acts as diverse as Michael Bolton, Billy Cobham, Al Stewart, Charlie Musselwhite and Elvin Bishop, and graced stages at world-renowned venues (Yoshi's San Francisco & Oakland) as well as festivals, wineries, private events and intimate nightclubs. Elaine has been a professional singer for most of her life (trained in Voice at Eastman School of Music), and has produced three nationally released jazz CDs that have brought her five-star reviews and airplay on international and U.S. radio and online channels. Her bands – comprised of veteran Bay Area musicians – always swing, bossa nova, samba and entertain, whether in large concert-style shows, private parties, or small, intimate settings. Elaine and her bands always put on a great show; and for private or intimate audiences, Elaine provides the perfect ambiance for your special event. ONE REVIEWER WROTE OF ELAINE'S LIVE SHOW: "Alluring at times; boisterous, bouncy and engaging at others. Funny, witty, delicate and eloquent, but always - always - classy and thoroughly professional. And she can sing! Oh my, can she sing! Elaine brought the packed house to its collective feet." (Loren Abbey, jazz reviewer) A life-long songwriter, Elaine also plays guitar and performs as a soloist for house concerts, intimate venues, wedding ceremonies, and memorial services. She was a finalist at the 2014 West Coast Songwriters Association competition. Her original song "Sayulita" was featured in an independent film ("The Dating Game") and Elaine is currently (2015-16) recording her latest CD of all original songs (produced by Argentinian guitarist Hugo Wainziner and Brazilian pianist Weber Iago). Elaine brings her crystal clear tones and musician's sensibility to a unique, engaging sound. Known as a "musician's singer," Elaine has garnered the respect of her musical peers for her sophisticated swing, eclectic song choices, and dynamic stage presence. Her various influences include the greats like Ella, Judy and Peggy Lee, as well as world-music artists like Cesaria Evora and Sheila Chandra. As a singer/songwriter, Elaine was heavily influenced by the four-octave singer Phoebe Snow, as well as classical singers like Elly Ameling, and great writers James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon. Current influences include Brandi Carlile, Brent Dennen and Beck.
