About Vendor

Learn more about this vendor for your event.

California Jazz Rebellion come with an extensive list of music pedigrees and performance credits, but it seems all that experience has made a monster out of this ensemble! Rooted in the most classic of jazz styles, CJR is notorious for reimagining standards with a completely fresh new sound. Conversely, you may hear them take a current hit and bring it back in time nearly a century without ever questioning if the song was a pop hit from the 1920's or today. CJR rebel from the esotericism of traditional Jazz. Their sound breathes new life into what has slowly become “musician's music” and playing it for the masses. Australian-born certified Platinum and Gold recording artist and songwriter Craig Hendry is truly a world-class performer whose career has taken him to some 25 countries around the globe. He has recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, performed at (among others) the Sydney Opera House, London's Royal Albert Hall and the Tchaikovsky Music Hall in Moscow, and is one of Los Angeles' most in-demand pianists/vocalists. Craig met chart-topping singer/songwriter Jamie Lee Wilson while they were both studying at the prestigious Conservatorium of Music in Australia. Jamie relocated to Los Angeles after graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. Fresh off the plane from performing in London, Russia, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand, Jamie has wowed audiences the world over with her electrifying performances. Recently a finalist for both Artist of The Year and the People's Choice Awards and last month a dual finalist in the Q Music Awards as well as the worlds largest songwriting contest, ISC and her latest single was one of the the top 40 most played songs on US Dance Radio in 2015. Drummer Brad Ranola has performed worldwide as a professional musician since 1997 and has been teaching music equally as long. Steeped deeply in the tradition of classical percussion, his playing style also employs elements of Cuban, Brazilian, and West African music. This melting pot is where Brad has concocted a unique sound and style. It's this sound that has given him the opportunity to share stages with jazz greats such as Faye Carol the late Louie Bellson, Glen Campbell as well as Latin Jazz All-star, Pete Escovedo. Bassist, Greg McFall grew up working in his Grandpa's diner, listening to him belt out the tunes of the jazz greats featured on his beloved jukebox while flipping omelettes behind the grill. After Greg received his B.A. in jazz bass performance from San Jose State University, he began playing with jazz greats of the Bay Area, including vocalist Faye Carol, pianist Kito Gamble, veteran reedsman Don Pender, and pianist & musical director Alan Chang (Michael Buble). Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Greg met CJR drummer Brad Ranola and created a musical partnership. Greg began performing with Gustavo Bulgach & Klezmer Juice (featured in the movie Wedding Crashers), gypsy jazz virtuoso Gonzalo Bergara, and countless other artists in multiple genres. Greg is also a founding member of alt prog-pop band Your Future Lovers, who have recently recorded with Grammy-winning producer J.J. Blair (Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson) producer Alan Chang (Michael Buble) and Grammy-winning engineer Brian Warwick (Ludacris, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Adam Lambert). In 2014 Greg also received his M.M. in composition from SCU Los Angeles.
