I am a Peabody Award (2017) winning television director, radio on air talent and producer, novelist, writer, and corporate publicist. I have had the great fortune to speak all over the world. I love to motivate women and men to find their voice, follow their dreams and share their success. I speak on landing the job of a lifetime, the impact of education, the life and times of Maya Angelou, on filmmaking including master classes, writing, diversity, inclusion, race and culture. Recently, I spoke to students at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics and State University of New York - Oswego, Black Male Educators for Social Justice in Philadelphia, and the Women of Color Film Festival in New York. I motivate, inspire and often keynote. I love to encourage high school, college and university students, women's groups and speak to non-profits and corporations. Locally, in my hometown of Chicago, I often speak to community groups as well. I have engagements around the country and internationally from Paris and Amsterdam, to Cape Town. In the United States I speak most often in New York with engagements from Los Angeles, Atlanta, Kentucky, Little Rock Arkansas and many states.
In addition to a Peabody Award, I have three Emmy's and two Women In Television Awards. I've worked with the late Maya Angelou and Oprah Winfrey, and booked top celebrities for many of my radio and television programs, including entertainers Common, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Chris Rock, Martina McBride, Tony Bennett and many others. Also, political figures such as Attorney General Janet Reno, Archbishop Desmond TuTu, General Colin Powell, Speaker Nancy Pelossi, President Clinton and Secretary Clinton. I published a coming of age novel with Random House titled Meant to Be and have interviewed writers such as: Toni Morrison, Amy Tan, Alice Walker, Isabel Allende, Shauna Singh Baldwin, Rick Bragg, Edwidge Danticat, Jamaica Kincaid and Walter Mosley.
As CEO and owner of RCW Media Productions, Inc. since 2010, I secure, maintains, and develops large client contracts, with innovative concepts for media, events, merchandise, foundation, philanthropy and community engagement, supporting all outreach. From 2006 to 2010, I served as Producer and Special Projects Director for Oprah Radio, HARPO Productions, with hosts such as Maya Angelou, Nate Berkus, Marianne Williamson, and Peter Walsh; produced a variety of special events; and booked A-list celebrities, government officials, artists and authors.
