Marni Bell Barranco is Southern California South Bay's Premier Harpist (serving the "Beach Cities" - Manhattan / Hermosa / Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, and other surrounding cities in the Greater Los Angeles area).
She has been performing professionally for more than 35 years, and has fun entertaining her audiences (who often mention that they enjoy recognizing the pieces she performs).
Also, as a harp instructor, she thoroughly enjoys instilling the love of music and the harp in her students of all ages. She loves to help them reach their musical goals.
Originally from Honolulu, HI, Marni began playing the harp at the early age of 10.
She has a beautiful 6-ft harp with a rich sound, and plays all types of music: love songs, show tunes, classical, "harpy", contemporary, and of course Christmas and other holiday songs during that magical time of year.
Over the years, Marni has performed solo background entertainment in numerous settings – weddings, parties, black tie galas, grand openings, restaurants, special tasting and fundraising events, banquets, funeral services, senior communities, country clubs, etc.
She has entertained audiences at various So Cal-based establishments including the Terranea Resort, the Beverly Hills Hotel, L.A. Country Club, Beverly Hilton, California Yacht Club, L.A. Hilton, Pavilion Restaurant at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, La Ferme, and Le Petit Suisse.
Marni also provided solo background entertainment at various Honolulu-based restaurants, such as The Wharf and The Grape Escape.
Marni graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) Provo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and was a former member of the BYU Philharmonic and BYU Symphony Orchestras.
She was the Principal Harpist for the renowned Mormon Tabernacle Organist and Composer Robert Cundick's production, "The Redeemer" held at UNLV.
Her previous highly accomplished teachers include Lea Tanner Bennett, Susi Hussong, Carla Strauss, and Louise Pratt.
Marni is a current member of the American Harp Society, L.A. Chapter.
