I play solo guitar for wedding,parties events. etc. I do sets of standard tunes from the 20's to the 70's but am willing to play whatever is necessary for the event. I have played cover and original music in Bay Area bands since the late 70's. I began my musical education as a piano player in the late 60's taking classical lessons in Southern California (Right next door to Ted Cassidy's house...he played Lurch on the 60's sitcom the Addam's Family). I wanted to play rock and roll so when I was about 17 I got a Bob Dylan song book from my Dad and forced my fingers into those unnatural positions. It took months to make any decent sounds but I was hooked. My first real band was a classic rock cover band called Spectrum.We played out quite a bit in the early '80's. Shortly before we broke up we did a gig at a club called Joshua's in San Jose. It was sponsored by the rock radio station at the time KSJO and they had a promotion for .92 cent drinks. My parents tried to come see us but the place was a mob scene and they couldn't get in. We had no phone at the time..just a garage to practice in so my Mom wrote me a letter and said she though we had ''made it'' judging from the crowd. I didn't have the heart to tell her about the .92 cent drinks. I played in a trio during the mid 80's and then reunited with Spectrum's bass player Robert Shaw to form Wax Dolphin in the late 80's and early 90's. Wax played cover and original music and we recorded several tunes with Paul Jones...renowned bass player and producer in 2001 including the single ''Freedom''. Wax disbanded in the mid 2000's and Robert and I reunited with the lead singer and keyboard player from Spectrum to form the 4th Street Dance Band. 4th Street disbanded in 2012 but were reuniting for our singers 60th bday by doing a show in Oakland 1\30.I started doing the solo acoustic thing while playing wedding receptions with 4th Street and would love to play for your event anytime.
