Prior to my wedding reception, Funk Bus (Short Bus) was extremely organized and responded quickly to all of my questions. They went out of their way to make sure that all of my requests were met and were very easy to work with. Most of all, the band played GREAT music and played it well! I would definitely recommend this band to any of my friends!

I have strongly looked forward to the opportunity to give feedback on the professionalism of this particular band. In June, I began researching 'the perfect band' for my wedding. The reception was the part of my wedding I looked forward to the most. I even made phone calls to people who had hired 'Short Bus' for their weddings. Without hesitation, everyone gave great reviews. At this point, there was no turning back. I had found the perfect band. In the same month, I confirmed my booking for this band by paying the referral fee to 'gigmasters' and the $250 deposit to Short Bus. We had even e-mailed about different ideas I had for the reception. With their busy schedules, I did not find it necessary to keep discussing ideas that they would forget about. So, with my wedding scheduled on the website, I was not concerned about the band. On Thursday, September 8, I e-mailed Mike about the estimated time of arrival and whether he would need directions. He replied the band chooses to arrive 2 hours before they are set to play. But he would need to get back with me about the directions. No problem. Then Tuesday, September 13, Mike left a message on my answering machine that he was needing to tie some loose ends and finalize some details with me. Then at 430 pm on the same day, he left another message stating that he had bad news and that the band would have to cancel on me due to unforeseen circumstances. The bass player quit!! I am at work this entire time and I receive a call from my Mom stating, 'The band has quit!!' Immediately, I check my e-mail to see if there may possibly be an updated response saying, "kidding". No, but I do find an e-mail sent 10 minutes after the cancelling message stating, ' I have not had any correspondence with you and I don't recall receiving your deposit.' Mike pretty much tried to make it look like I dropped the ball. When I called him, he pretty much told me it was out of his hands and he tried every possible solution he knew. To sum it all up, I had four days to find a replacement for a band that I booked four months prior. Fortunately, I did do so and the wedding was a success. I am still waiting on my deposit to be refunded.

We hired Short Bus through the internet, without hearing them live. They were very professional and accomodating. It was a hot and humid evening in August, but they kept people dancing until we had to clear out. Lots of fun!
