Ley Line is a multilingual folk and soul band from Austin Texas. Through vocal harmonies, upright bass, guitar, ukulele, and percussion, their influences draw from international folklore music from North and South America; imagine Devendra Banhart and Feist had four love children who grew up climbing trees and listening to Paul Simon and Sam Cooke.

Their Story:
Serendipity brought together Kate Robberson, Emilie Basez, Madeleine and Lydia Froncek in Durango, Colorado. An adventure to some remote hot springs on the Piedra River solidified a musical sisterhood that would take a hiatus until November of 2014. Kate and Emilie returned from Brazil to their hometown, Austin, Texas, with the exciting news that Maddy would also be moving to Austin. Within three months, Seth Gibbs (Superpop Records) warmly welcomed the ladies to his studio to record their full length album expected to release in June 2016.
From festivals to farmers markets, front porches to yoga studios, Ley Line shares their sound with wide variety of audiences.
The four women bring their experiences from abroad at home to the mix. From Brazilian forró to Spanish healing songs, Swahili gospel to French alt-pop, the band will take you on a worldly adventure that is sure to get you on your feet, take a deep breath, relax and let go.
After releasing their debut album in May 2016, the Leydies took a summer tour from Austin, Texas to Ithaca, New York. Over a two month period, they played notorious venues such as The Grey Eagle in Asheville NC, Passim in Cambridge MA and Pianos in New York City. In Austin TX, they share their music through community events, farmer's market, fundraisers for local organizations, yoga studios, coffee shops, bars and listening rooms.
Press Reviews:
"Ley Line's Field Notes is a collection of songs that seem to be taken straight from the American soul of the everyday woman and man. The stories and music bring to the imagination a sense of the Americas as a borderless expanse, where influence can come from the peoples and traditions of any corner. The instrumentation is beautifully diverse and only matched by harmonies from voices that seem fated to sing, play, and travel together."
-Collin Fidler of Oh Boy Records – Nashville, TN
"Ley Line's debut album Field Notes is an eloquent and emotive combination of acoustic soul and multicultural music, the likes of which can only be topped by their intimate live performances."
-Zack Luckin of WICB Homebrew Radio – Ithaca, NY
"Su música es un camino en donde van apareciendo paisajes sonoros de distintas naturalezas. El mar se hace presente…y vemos como se van escribiendo los versos en la arena. Ley Line rompe las fronteras a travéz de su ritmo y su palabra, como aves que multiplican su voz para atravesar los cielos. [El grupo] se refleja un mensaje de amor que florece en los anchos y sagrados caminos de la tierra, caminos hechos para encontrarnos y abrazarnos como humanidad."
"Their music moves you through a variety of soundscapes and nature. The ocean is present, and you can see their lyrics written in the sand. Ley Line breaks down borders through rhythm and lyric, in the way that birds sing together to travel the skies. They share a message of love that flowers along the wide and sacred paths across the Earth, paths on which we discover and embrace our humanity."
-Pedro Morales of Monterrey, MX
