Kai Narezo is a flamenco guitarist who has always had one foot planted in the Old World and the other in the New. His sound reflects a deep reverence for the roots and the soul of traditional flamenco, a love for the modern flamenco landscape, and an American sensibility rooted in jazz-fusion and contemporary production techniques. His first album, Vueltas, was released in 2006, and his latest album, Contra Tiempo, has its official release on November 6, 2015. His co-authored textbook, A Compás: The Flamenco Guitar Survival Guide, will be the first text ever to be used to teach flamenco at Berklee College of Music, where he also studied as a recipient of the BEST Scholarship. He started playing at the age of 12 and has studied and performed with some of the most prolific names in the world of flamenco. His work has also appeared in various film and television projects. Narezo is a brilliant soloist in high demand as an accompanist and is a dedicated and proven teacher. He holds a B.A. degree in Russian Literature from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with his wife Shulie and dog Walter.

As a flamenco guitarist I can do anything from solo guitar performances, duo with percussion or second guitar, my flamenco-fusion trio with percussion or drums and electric bass all the way up to a full 'Tablao"-style flamenco show with dancers, flamenco singer and percussionist. 

For smaller events solo guitar is usually more than enough to set a mood, whereas a larger event can really benefit from having a percussionist involved and still keep the music at a background level. For a full flamenco show the minimum would be guitar, singer and dancer. Again, depending on the size of the event/space we can add more performers.  

I provide all sound equipment and generally only require access to electric and chairs. In the case of a dance show a wood floor will be required or can be arranged. 




Kai provided just what we asked.  The talent ant quality was impressive.  My guest all comments on how much they enjoyed him.  I would certainly engage him again and would recommend him without  reservation.  

Kai created the perfect ambiance for my husband's surprise birthday dinner.  It was a small, intimate evening with about 16 guests.  He arrived early to set up and was extremely professional.  Everyone at the party complimented his artistry and musical talents.  Kai read the vibe of the room to play the right music all throughout the evening.  We hired him to play for 2.5 hours.  His music created the perfect ambiance for our event.  I would definitely recommend Kai to anyone looking for an artist to tie the evening together.

Kai is an outstanding performer and very professional. He arrived early to set up and was ready to play at the beginning of our event. The guest were impressed with his playing. We would highly recommend him as you will not be disappointed.

First class music.  Kai was flawless.  He is accommodating, playing for an extra half hour at a last minute request.  Excellent beautiful music creating a perfect ambience for my event.
