The story of Kuya Kano's music: Although Kuya Kano began performing music in the United States, his previous career as a Professional Yachtsman took him around the world where his international sound was eventually formulated. His musical style was first inspired in Puerto Nuevo, Mexico by a duet known as "Latcho and Andrea" who conducted a Spanish/Flamenco performance on his yacht. Since then, his passion grew for this free-style and adventurously spirited style of the Spanish guitar. His 12 year experience of world traveling has captured European, Middle Eastern, Latin and Asian sounds that make his music a unique blend for almost any occasion. From Mexico, Kuya Kano continued to travel around the world to places like Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, and in Asia. In the Philippines, he was tagged with the name Kuya Kano; "Kuya", a Tagalog word respectfully addressing one as "big brother", and "Kano", a slang word for a person from the United States. Kuya Kano released his first album in 2012 called "Imagine the Life". The collection of songs were inspired by his 12 years of traveling around the world. In the Summer of 2013, Kuya Kano released his second album inspired by his world travels called "Places I Dream Of". A third album entitled "No Compass" is scheduled to be released in late 2015. Kuya Kano has been featured on television in the Philippines at the Eat Bulaga studio with the Ryzza Mae Show. He has also been featured on "The Business Side of Music" and "The Advocate Radio" show.
