SMASH THE BOX
Don't just think outside the proverbial box… SMASH it! This entertaining and thought provoking keynote address allows your audience to see and experience the importance of creativity in the workplace. Audiences will discover the 4 walls of their mental box and learn 4 ways to SMASH them to innovate, inspire and create a culture of innovation for your group.
The four walls of the mental box include:
3-Dimensional Listening (Judgment)- Getting the focus off of us and onto someone or something else.
Ruining the Take (Perfection)-Allowing ourselves to be wrong, make mistakes and fail fast as a means of entering a creative space.
The "Yes And" Technique (Fear)- Saying “Yes” to opportunities as a means of keeping the creative process open and alive.
Stream of Consciousness Technique (Negativity)- Changing our inner dialogue from negative to positive.
EYES OF A LEADER
Think like a leader! Look like a leader! Act like a leader! Eyes of a Leader is an interactive keynote address that includes inspirational stories on creative leadership, humor and creative exercises. It addresses the physical and mental aspects of creative leadership in regards to the thoughts we generate, our physicality and the decisions we make while in the moment. EYES OF A LEADER challenges the inner critic, the suppression of emotions and the concept of rigid and stoic leadership by injecting creativity into your leadership practices.
Think like a leader- Inner dialogue- Silencing one's inner critic.
Look like a leader- Posture- Having proper posture allows one to own one's space and command attention.
Act like a leader– Spontaneous- Improvising within a set of constraints is the true definition of creative leadership.
We must get off the script to improvise, be in the moment, innovate and create. Being locked to a script is what chains us down and the chains include patterns, routines, processes and procedures. Creativity is not achieved through a step by step process, formula, or on a “To Do” list. Rather, it is a journey into the unknown filled with mistakes, experimentation and exploration serving as a catalyst fo r originality. The goal of this address is to shift from left brain thinking to right brain thinking to unleash our creative energies. We use 91% of our left brain (cerebral) and 9% of our right brain (creative) on a normal work day. It is the not knowing where one is going is where true creativity lies.
Get off the script- By dismantling patterns, routines and processes
Improvise- Add the art of improvisation into your meetings
Experiment and explore- Relentlessly seek imperfection as a means of creating
Originality- Generate new ideas that add value
