A good Disc Jockey will use commercial, professional quality equipment and will tailor his/her system to fit the needs of the function. Lighting, Haze, and/or Bubbles make a wonderful enhancement for a late evening function. Find out from your Disc Jockey if he/she has the capability to provide these special services. EXPERIENCE: Your Disc Jockey could have the latest top of the line equipment. However, if he/she has no experience in performing at varied age functions, they may not provide the personal service you need, such as taking requests and crowd interaction. With some of the varied ages and those from different cultures attending, your Disc Jockey should be able to read the crowd and play the type of music that would be popular with everyone involved. MUSIC: Your Disc Jockey should meet the planning committee prior to the function and solicit general guidelines for the type of music to be played. Your Disc Jockey must know the different types, styles of music, such as radio airplay, club music and explicit lyric music. Radio airplay is music that is suitable for all listeners. On the other hand, club music is primarily played in night-clubs. It may have suggestive type lyrics and profanity. Lastly, there is explicit lyric music, which should only be played for adults.
