We know we're not the cheapest production company but we'd love to explain why we along with many high quality companies in San Diego charge what we charge.
First we realize you could very easily plug an ipod in with all your favorite selections, but always remember you get what you pay for. When you get us, here's what you're really paying for.

A company with 10+ years of real high end wedding experience along with upscale private parties. Fully insured should anything we do cause damage to you, your guests or your venue. We provide planning assistance, detailed forms and assist in filling them out, making sure every detail is not missed and there is a well balanced structure to your big day. We have top of the line equipment so that there is less likely the chance of interruptions during your event, and should that ever happen we have back up equipment standing by. While we are not a multi-operational company with lots of employees to pay, we do have equipment to pay for, hundreds of thousands of music selections we have to purchase, high end movie quality cameras, the insurance, the traveling fees, marketing, equipment maintenance.

Many clients often believe we will just show up and push play or record for 4 or 5 hours. The reality is our job starts months before we ever get to your wedding. We meet with you for an initial interview to make sure we are the right fit, we meet again to go over the planner, and often times meeting a final time to make sure the event planner is finished up, prepare and make sure we are all on the same page. After that we take the time to pre-plan all of your music selections, loading them up onto multiple systems to ensure a backup plan is in place should electronics fail. We will go to your venue with you, to do a walkthrough to make sure we know where you would like us to setup our equipment and any other extras such as lighting, pipe & drape, market lighting layout, speaker positioning, ceremony setups etc. We then show up 60-90 min in advanced if not more depending on the services we have been contracted for to make sure everything is setup on time. The day of the event we are professionally dressed and prepared to interact with you, following the schedule we have carefully planned out together, and we mix your music seamlessly to keep the energy flowing. We are always attentive to the crowd when it comes to dancing and make sure the right music is playing to keep people moving. We also act as your professional MC to orchestrate everything that is happening without being too vocal and taking the spotlight away from you or your guests.

So as you can see it's more than just plugging in an ipod and pressing play that makes an event successful, it requires, skill, proper equipment, knowledge of the wedding & music industry just to name a few. There are many reputable companies out there that will do a great job, they may charge more they may be cheaper than us. You can typically expect to pay between 500-700 for a DJ with 1-5 years of experience. 700 - 900 for 5-8 years experience and 900-1200 for a DJ with 10+ years experience. Do you really want to hand over the most important day of your life to someone a year or two of experience who could very well mess things up? There is no second chance on your one big day.

The DJ is what could really make or break your big day. People will always remember 3 things from a wedding....

1. What you looked like (your dress, photographer & videographer)
2. Where it was at (your venue)
3. How much fun they had (your entertainment)

We hired Gibbs Productions DJ Service for a Bar Mitzvah party. As everyone knows, it is the entertainment that is critical in making a party be a "great" and "fun" party. Chad provided just that. Chad arrived to the party on time, set-up occurred without a hitch. I had hired Chad about five months before the party and we had a couple of "keep in touch emails". About 2 1/2 weeks before the party, Chad requested a timeline. On the day of the party, the timeline changed just a bit, but Chad was very easy going and had no problems with any last minute changes. I found Chad to be extremely professional and I would highly recommend him for any type of party.
