BIO Hi my name is Maya professionally know as "WeirdoWithSoul" DJ/emcee/turntablist. Based in Los Angeles. I am expert multi-genre DJ with the ability to play a multitude of music genres for an array of audiences! My aim as a DJ is to ensure audiences have an unforgettable electrifying experience. With over a decade of experience I have DJ’d globally and across the nation at clubs, private events and cooperate events. BACKGROUND A little background on how my journey began…I trained at The Beat Junkies Institute of Sound, founded by one of the best DJ collectives in the world. Under the tutelage of world-renowned Turntablist/DJs Mr. Choc and DJ Babu, honing scratch technics, DJ mixing, trick mixing, beat juggling, and blending. This allows me to add some flavor to my DJ sets. MUSIC DIRECTION I appreciate music from every genre/era, and love crafting sets that offer a wide range of styles, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. I’m a big fan of uplifting remixes, classic throwbacks and moments where everyone is singing along to timeless hits. I love Afrobeats, R&B , nu disco, funky house, hip hop/r&b and global sounds. Plus, I mix in tons of gems from different decades and popular Top 40 jams. I'm versatile and I thrive on reading the room in real-time, and I can curate the music to suit your event's musical tastes.
