Brought together by their love for New Orleans brass music, the members of the High-Hat Second Line have dedicated themselves to bringing the soul and traditional sound of this iconic genre to Chicago.
From modern Brass Band culture to the Hot Jazz era of Louis Armstrong, from traditional Gospel to Mardi Gras Indian influences, High Hat Second Line blends all specificities of the rich genre of New Orleans Music. Their performances pay tribute to its complex and diverse, inherently festive and uplifting heritage.
The High Hat Second Line tailors our performances to meet our client's needs. The High Hat Second Line was founded as the house band for the High Hat Club in the North Center neighborhood and held a Tuesday night residency for 2 years before picking up a monthly residency at SIP at Southport and Irving Park Ave. We provided background music for the dinner crowd in these settings and can provide similar music for your cocktail hours. We are available for weddings, private parties, and corporate events.
