Like Fresh air, flannel shirts, and a cool drink of water from a farmhouse pump, The Limitations Cash Crop Acoustic Show will take you back to the roots of rock with their warm and familiar old school sound. The band focuses on the mid 50's to early 60's era with songs by Cash, Elvis, and others. The band's own blend of early rock is mixed with a little bit of country, blues, gospel, and California cool. From I WALK THE LINE, to ROUTE 66, to ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL, The Limitations play the early songs in a fresh and vital manner, with the power and elegance that makes this music come alive.
Taking a less is more approach, The Limitations rock the room with a traditional line up of acoustic guitar, lead guitar, and upright bass. The music comes to life with a percussive swirl created by a tight "boom-chuck-boom-chuck" bond between the rhythm guitar and the bass. Tonal colors with melodic harmonies are added to the groove with adeptly applied lead guitar, bridging the sonic zone between rock and country guitar stylings. The vocals are strong on all fronts. The bold and rich baritone of Mr. Tony V brings back the lost art of hitting the low notes and making them count. The 3 part vocal harmonies are strong as each chorus carries you on to the next verse of each song. This is real old school. Old school vibe, old school attitude, old school ethos, and old school soul.
Each musician here brings a strong background of musical experience and legacy. The performances are warm, intimate, and engaging, as the band draws the audience closer and closer in to the performance. The Limitations are a group of very good musicians who play roots music in a fun, upbeat, and graceful manner. The band serves the song and the audience in each performance.
The Limitations are a great choice for festivals, fairs, clubs, celebrations, and parties. The band is self-contained with amplification. Use of gear is kept to a bare minimum in smaller settings. The band will work without any sound amplification for a truly intimate performance for a house party or a senior residence. Of course, a full sound systems is available for larger and outdoor venues. The volume of the band is low to moderate. As an acoustic trio, the stage footprint is small. A 10' X 6' area will work for smaller settings. Load in/set up time is about 45 minutes. A written Performance Agreement (contract) is available and is encouraged with all performances.
