The Gig Garcia Band consists of the most talented virtuoso musicians/vocalists in Northern California. The band is available for many types of events. Weddings, Corporate parties, private parties, music festivals, concerts. etc. Gig Garcia (vocals, bass, keyboards) Gig is a music producer, composer, studio & performing musician. Originally from Chicago he settled in the San Francisco Bay Area and played in bands during the renaissance era of Rock & Roll. His musical styles include rock, pop, funk, reggae, country & latin. Because of these genre's he has coined his style “TropRock” or tropical rock. He has shared the stage with Tower of Power, Pat Benatar, Cold Blood, Elvin Bishop, Eric Burden, Pablo Cruise, Sons of Champlin & many others. His production & studio credits have awarded him an Emmy & Grammy nominations. Danny Descalzo (vocals, drums, percussion) Danny has been playing and teaching professionally for over 30 years and brings heart and soul to each show and he is now back in the drum chair with The Gig Garcia Band. Having played countless shows and venues, he is ready to “bring it” to the gig! He is an endorsed artist/educator of the Vic Firth company, the largest stick manufacturer in the world and his extended discography includes 5 Gold Records with world renowned Norteno artists Los Tigres del Norte and also performed on their Latin Grammy winning album "Herencia de la Familia." John Harmon (vocals, guitars) Sacramento native John Harmon began his journey on the guitar at the age of 10 and played his first gig when he was 11. Copping licks from Earth, Wind and Fire, Kool & the Gang, the Ohio Players and anything from Motown established him as a solid rhythm player, while chewing on the records of Jeff Beck, Robben Ford, Jimmy Hendrix, Duane Allman and Joe Satriani fueled his lead playing. After graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, John slugged it out as a “gun-for-hire” in the cities of Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the Reno/Tahoe area playing clubs, casinos, state and county fairs, festivals, small arenas and crawfish holes. He's toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada and has shared stages with Tower of Power, Los Lobos, Freddie Fender, Michael Bolton, Mickey Thomas, and Woody (Cheers) Harrelson to name a few. John returned to Sacramento to rejoin the music scene and once again established himself as a guitarist of interest for local bands and studio sessions. He graduated from Sacramento State University where he studied classical guitar with Dr. Rich Savino and is currently director of the Guitar and Commercial Music Program at Woodcreek High School in Roseville, CA. Dave Schuler (vocals, keyboards) Born in the frozen tundras of northern Wisconsin, Dave started playing keyboards at age 9. His stylistic roots span multiple genres, including jazz, rock, pop, country and classical. He'll even admit to playing a few polkas (Hey… he's from Wisconsin). He cites Jimmy Smith, Keith Emerson, Jan Hammer and Chick Corea as early influences. He began playing professionally at age 15, and graduated from the University of Minnesota, majoring in Music and Computer Engineering. His performing career has found him in venues across the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and as far away as Beijing China, sharing the stage with artists as diverse as INXS, Randy Brecker, Badfinger, the Replacements, the Guess Who, Billy Preston, The Rembrandts and Wendy O Wilson. Lori Sacco-Nelson (Vocals, percussion, keyboards) Lori Sacco (vocals, percussion, keyboards): Lori began playing drums and piano at age 8. She was a music major at Sac State, but soon went "on the road", living in hotels and playing 6 nights a week for over 10 years. This included three Far East tours to Korea, Japan, Phillippines, Okinawa, Guam, and Hawaii. Lori then earned a degree in Radio/TV and a BA in Communications. She became a News Reporter/Anchor with KFBK Radio and a DJ with KGBY Radio (Y92.5)... the popular Paul and Phil Show. During this time, Lori performed with the Sacramento band Mother Mayhem, and a trio called A Little Mayhem. Lori continues to write and record music for her daughter, Nikki Nelson, and performs with Nikki and her son Sean in coffee bars around town.
