The Gentleman Outfit Cover Band from Boston, MA

The Gentleman Outfit endeavors to bridge the gap between today's popular music and the pure acoustic roots of rock and roll. A foundation of vocal harmony, coupled with the simple marriage of a guitar and a djembe makes for a unique, yet classic, sound that spans several genres and generations. Specialties -Colleges and Universities -Weddings -Private Parties -Restaurants and Bars The Gentleman Outfit started at Hartwick College in the fall of 2005 as an acoustic trio; Jesse and Jim alongside their close friend, light-hearted percussionist Ian Kimball. The band was dismantled as members graduated over the years, only to be reborn when Jesse and Jim met back up in Boston five years after the band's original conception. The sound of The Gentleman Outfit is an amalgam of styles. On one hand, it is a product of hundreds of hours spent realizing the importance of harmony and poetry by listening to artists like Dispatch, Jason Mraz, and Ben Harper. In addition, the band's acoustic personality is heavily influenced by rhythm-dominated rock, a trait that manifests itself in the form of tight stops, hooks, and overall heavy-handed rock enthusiasm (think Fall Out Boy, The Spill Canvas, Third Eye Blind, Rage Against the Machine). Stylistically, The Gents often find themselves relaxing into reggae-flavored grooves a la State Radio and Sublime. All of these different and distinct sounds find a place in The Gentleman Outfit's music.
