Alex Benjamin Guitarist from Bellerose, NY

Alex Benjamin is a singer-songwriter based out of New York, NY. His unique voice blends the subtle nuances of r&b to the rawness of urban soul. He believes that where words may lack, music can abound. And so he looks to convey the stories around him through music in hopes to challenge those who will listen to see themselves as part of a larger story. Alex started his music career at an early age. His upbringing in the church prepared him to sing and play in front of large audiences ranging from hundreds to thousands around the country. Alex has played in various settings ranging from marching bands to concert orchestras to jazz bands. Currently, Alex is a music major at The City College of New York where he is studying audio technology at the Sonic Arts Center. His debut single, “The Fool,” is expected to be released February of 2014. And is working on his first EP expected to be released in the fall of 2015. Alex dreams to continue doing what he loves--to convey stories through song. He desires to give voice to those who cannot be heard, or, rather, will not be heard.
