the High Life Band is a Roots, Americana, Country, Folk & Bluegrass trio founded by Brooklyn-based lady Tele slinger Lily Maase.
Formerly the lead guitarist with regionally popular bluegrass outfit JP & the Gilberts, Ms. Maase founded the High Life Band with the intent to carry on the tradition of such great performers as Emmy Lou Harris, Gram Parsons and Norman Blake, but with one twist--a talented, conservatory-trained woman on lead guitar!
A University of North Texas graduate, Lily Maase is also an accomplished classical guitarist, which make the High Life Band an ideal choice for weddings and other private events, as Ms. Maase and company can deliver a classical wedding ceremony, acoustic bluegrass cocktail hour, and 3-4 sets of high-energy country, folk, and roots music. They are available as a trio, or with additional instrumentation (fiddle, accordion, acoustic guitar) at a negotiable rate.
