Mango Season is a Honolulu based, sexy island soul seven-piece group. If Quincy Jones opened up a speakeasy in chinatown, Mango Season would be the house band.
Formed in Honolulu, Hawai'i in 2009, Mango Season is the creation of husband and wife duo Curtis Kamiya (music director, vocalist, and guitarist) and Annie Kamiya (vocalist, percussionist), both full-time musicians and music entrepreneurs.
Our "island soul" sound is a mix of retro pop, soul, and jazz infused with classic Hawaiian island grooves, funky rhythms and lush harmonies. Our music gets you out of your seat to shake your booty, and then sit back and chill-out with some late night grooves; think Earth Wind and Fire meets Kalapana.
Since 2009 Mango Season has served the Honolulu, Hawaii area specializing in elite destination weddings, and specialty live music crafted for events, parties or conventions, and live concerts & tours. We perform as an intimate duo or trio, perfect for a cocktail hour or dinner. We also perform as a rockin' seven-piece ready to get the party started!
Our band includes some of Honolulu's best musicians, including Wil Tafolo (vocalist, bassist), Chris Yeh (alto saxophone), Nicholas Kaleikini (tenor sax), Ken Lykes (keys), and Mark Lindberg (drums).
We released our debut full-length CD entitled Flying Home in 2013. Flying Home is available now on iTunes, CD Baby, and in all Tower Records stores in Japan. Mango Season's sophomore album will be available for purchase in early 2017.
