CEO Jack Welch once said, "Control your destiny or someone else will." I say, "Control your focus, or some screen will."
My motivational angle addresses something that affects us all – digital distraction.
In today's attention-based economy focus is the new superpower. All the more reason to incorporate some manner of digital balance into our days, at both work and home, so that we, not our devices, are controlling our attentions.
During my presentation attendees, via my own screen-struggle story, will:
1) Gain understanding that digital balance is not about throwing away our devices, but about throwing away our potential to constant distraction.
2) Gain awareness to how our ever-increasing screen time is affecting us mentally and physically.
3) Attain understanding to the importance of getting outside and allowing ourselves to reboot.
4) Learn some simple tips on how to stem screen-checking compulsions and, ultimately, gain some semblance of digital balance in their daily lives.
And as an added bonus, I use my 20-plus years as a nationally touring stand-up comedian (have performed with Martin Short, Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan...) to deliver an interactive presentation that's not only informative and motivating but also highly entertaining.
