When you hire Chris Paugh for a standup gig you can expect to have a good time and not to worry about a thing.Chris works really hard on his material to find the right words in the right order to make people laugh. He does his very best to keep things fresh and original and to take the crowd by surprise. From off brand cereal to the darker aspects of parenting and being an adult you'll never know what comes next. A strongly worded opinion on the half-dollar or an endearing story about his 12-year-old daughter predicting his early demise, your party/event is in good hands when you book Chris to do standup. He provides a fun professional show with his own sound equipment or yours for the same cost.Chris has years of experience with setting up and running regular and ongoing shows. Chris is always there early to set up sound and let you know exactly how to optimize the experience for you and those you wish to have entertained. He always answers quote requests within a few hours and all quotes are negotiable as he is willing to work with you on your needs for the show. Please feel free to ask, no matter the venue or situation. He has performed/ran shows in Theaters, bars, record shops, hookah lounges, comicbook stores, card shops, tattoo parlors, art galleries, pizza places, colleges, on the radio, bistros, festivals, patios, house parties, if you have pretty much any space with an electrical outlet something can be worked out. Just ask. After spending the 2000s having kids, reading and learning to write comic books and getting divorced,Chris started up the Idiot Box Cult Podcast. While co-hosting 40 plus episodes he decided that he is pretty funny and began writing standup comedy. In 2012 Chris went to his first open mic and quickly became entrenched in the comedy scene in Columbus. In his first two to three years he ran several open mics, took part in the 2014 Brew Ha Ha Festival, and was a two time finalist in the Columbus Funny Bone's Funniest Person in Columbus contest in 2012 and 2013. He also produced and hosted several standup showcase shows including a monthly show for Central Ohio NORML, a politics show at Shadowbox, an improvised standup show at the Garden Theater, The Roast ofSuperman at the Garden Theater and had comedy pieces published in 614 Magazine and performed in the Columbus Comedy Festival in 2013 and 2014. During this time he was part of two podcasts the Arch City Podcast and This Is When We Talked:A Doctor Who Podcast. He moved back to Cleveland in 2014 and hit the ground running in a new scene. He won The Funny Stop's Funniest Comedian in Northeast Ohio in 2015. He has performed in The Cleveland Comedy Festival in 2015 and 2016,The Accidental Comedy Festival 2016 and currently runs the popular Ad Hominem Attack Show: A Roast Battle. He has also been back into podcasting more recently with The Ad Hominem Radio Program and has turned some focus to other types of writing and performing with the sketch group The Sad Boy's Social Club. Chris is a frequent guest on 89.3 WCSB in Cleveland.

ConventionReviewed on June 27, 2017From Vienna, OH

He was the worst ever. I'm forwarding emails to katy per our phone call. His vulgar emails were disgusting. He insulted people & .5 is too good for him. Tried to pay him with a check & he refused because he wanted more money & cash. Definitely the worst comedian ever, he says because he was too dirty, please, these ladies have heard lots of comedians and not only was he not dirty but not funny, he said I didn't do my research, all the research in the world couldn't have prepared us for this bomb he even knew it. Now he is harassing other Emblem clubs outside of Ohio and is still using gig masters even though per Katie he is no longer hired there. Awful

Chris Paugh:

Gina is not a very nice lady. She spelled Katy two different ways here. She refused to pay after I drove an hour and a half to her event. Video of this event is out there and the first ten minutes or so everyone is laughing and it's fine. Once, I mention having gay friends in one joke you can see the crowd starting to turn. She's correct it wasn't too dirty for them it was just not in line with what they are. If you're looking for a comedian to hire try and watch some of the videos and audio available on the page.
