Amy Milano is from upstate, NY where she started performing on stage, doing impersonations at parties and featured on TV spots at the age of five. Growing up in a small town, the local talent shows were often dubbed, “The Amy Milano Show”. Never shy for the stage she trained as a dancer, attended SUNY Brockport and received a BFA in Dance. Ms. Milano has performed on tours internationally and is an acclaimed dancer and choreographer. While living overseas she studied at Universities in London, Jamaica, and Ghana, West Africa. While in Ghana she wanted to make a difference so she traveled the villages…teaching tap dance. She was honored by the President of Ghana for making history by becoming the first person to teach tap dance in their country.
Then she tapped her way to NYC and attended the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, two year program, where she was trained in Meisner Technique. While in NY she worked on TV shows such as Law and Order, The Job, and The New Yorker, also playing the lead in such indie films as Delusional, Pink Lily, and Doll. Ms. Milano has starred in several Off…really Off Broadway shows as a dancer and an actress.
After relocating to LA, she worked with Time Warner as a talk show host with her own show, “LA Talk with Amy Milano”. She has also worked as a radio show host at 89.1 FM at Brockport and in LA on KFWB AM. Amy loves to do impersonations and attributes her physical comedy to her dance background and her character work to the years of improv training with Second City in NY and Groundlings in LA. Amy's true passion is making people laugh, she performs at clubs all over the country and when in LA you can see her doing stand up at the Ice House Comedy Club, The Comedy Store, and The Improv, she has opened for greats such as Whitney Cummings and Margaret Cho. Ms. Milano was featured on NBC's Last Comic Standing in LA with Bill Bellamy and has also appeared on MTV, Lifetime, and Comedy Central.
Amy decided to bring the story of her life to the stage and launched her one woman show, Dancing with Crazies, at the first Hollywood Fringe Festival. Reviewers raved about her show during the six week run at The Lounge Theatre and The Acme Theatre in Hollywood. Her show was selected out of hundreds to perform at the Women's Theatre Festival in New York and LA. Ms. Milano was honored to receive the 2012 Most Inspiring Solo Performance Award at the LA Women's Theatre Festival.
She is currently active in promoting Dancing with Crazies as a film project.
