Joe Romby Jr. is a clean comic whose material is culled from his own life as a husband, father, step-father, the son of an ex-cop, but over and above all is someone who, when he isn't being misunderstood and abused by the world, is nevertheless his own worst enemy, and his weapon of choice is his own big mouth.
His sets start off with one or two topical references based on the events of the day in the news for freshness, but quickly goes in to the travails of home-ownership, commuting, the giving up of old habits, and being foiled by his wife and children.
There is nothing offensive, nor in bad taste, or anything you couldn't let kids hear, though he does refer to drinking, smoking, and gambling.
His professional credits include opening for Buddy Flip and Rich Carucci. He won the New York Underground Comedy Festival's "Battle of the Boroughs." He has worked for the Comedy Association known as "Comedy To Go." He hosts the monthly Staten Island Comedy Show "Between the Boat and the Bridge," which has featured such headline talent as Robin Fox, Angry Bob, Mary Dimino, Amy Carlson and Vinny K. He appears regularly on "The Staten Island Comedy Show" hosted by Nevin Cummings, as well as appearing at the Gotham Comedy Club, The World Famous New York Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, the Laugh Lounge, "Comedy Under the Stars" hosted by Davin Rosenblatt, and at the Looney Bin.
is comedy is edgy without being dirty, is intelligent without being too smart, and is funny in a way that every generation can enjoy!
