Cliff Yates Clean Comedian from Los Angeles, CA

Cliff spent 35 years working as a police officer. He started his career in upstate New York working patrol for five years with the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. He then joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and after 30 years of service, retired at the rank of Sergeant. Cliff started doing stand up comedy in high school. At his high school graduation party, he did his routine, and was hired by the band as their opener. Cliff continued working street patrol by day, and doing stand up at night, and soon became known as L.A's Comedy Cop. While working a foot beat at Universal City, a chance encounter with a show producer, resulted in his double life as a comedian and Deputy Sheriff, featured on a local television news show. Cliff studied comedy with Judy Carter in Los Angeles, who inspired him to start producing his own shows. Cliff produced comedy specials at the "Roxy" on Sunset, and the "Hollywood Palladium", where he headlined both shows. Cliff was asked to join a team at the Sheriff's Department tasked with teaching a court mandated sexual harassment policy. All members of the team were trained by outside consultants, and their competency in facilitating the program had to be approved by the court. Cliff soon found he had a much tougher crowd that he ever encountered in a night club. Cliff made sure that he became an expert in sexual harassment, so he could answer the tough questions, and be able to bring his sense of humor, without violating the policy he was teaching.
