The Maia Trio is a traditional piano trio composed of violin, cello and piano/keyboard. Since 2017, the all-female trio has performed in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico for weddings, professional concerts, corporate events, and private parties. The Maia Trio is a highly trained, experienced and finely tuned ensemble exhibiting exceptional musicianship, professionalism, and personalized service. Our repertoire includes classical favorites from the piano trio repertoire including music by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Pachelbel, Schumann, Wagner, and others; in addition we perform music outside the classical realm such as popular tunes, Broadway songs, jazz standards, and tangos. What makes the Maia Trio unique? The Maia Trio is made up of three women, all local professional musicians, and is owned and managed by its members. Why a trio? The Maia Trio specializes in trio repertoire because our combination of instruments affords a variety of possibilities that other ensemble combinations cannot, thereby providing the most musical enjoyment for the audience. In general, a trio makes a full and rich sound and can be used for a ceremony, reception, cocktails or party due to the widest variety of music available. However, if your budget does not allow for a trio, we also offer piano and violin, piano and cello, just violin or cello or piano/organ.
