Praised by the New York Times as “excellent,” Katherine Siochi is an award-winning harpist residing in New York City. She is a versatile musician deeply involved in performing solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire, as well as performing music tailored to fit the needs of any event.
As a soloist Ms. Siochi is internationally acclaimed, having recently one first prize in the 10th USA International Harp Competition, one of the world's most prestigious harp contests. She has received many awards in national harp competitions, including 1st prize in the American Harp Society's Young Professional division, earning her the honor of AHS Concert Artist from 2015-2017. As AHS Concert Artist, Katherine is touring the US, presenting recitals and masterclasses. Her performances have been featured twice on NPR, on American Public Media, and WQXR. Active as an orchestral and chamber musician, Ms. Siochi has performed in major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Orchestra Hall of Minneapolis. She has performed with the New York Philharmonic, and has attended Aspen Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Center as a fellow over the past 4 summers.
In addition to classical music, Katherine is fluent in arranging and transcribing music of other genres. Her cover of "Fireflies" by pop artist Owl City went viral on youtube in 2009, earning her over 2 million views. Katherine is unique in her skill for specifically arranging music requests that her clients desire. She is experienced in performing for weddings, receptions, cocktail hours, and many other functions.
Katherine holds a Bachelor of Music in harp performance from The Juilliard School, where she studied with NY Philharmonic principal harpist Nancy Allen. She is currently continuing in the master's program at Juilliard as a proud recipient of the prestigious Kovner Fellowship.
