Joseph Venturi Classical Guitarist from Elmwood Park, IL

Hello, my name Joseph Venturi. I am offering up my services as a solo guitarist on the gigmaster platform out of my love for people, music, and,of course, the guitar. I began my formal musical training at Weber highschool in 1978, on Chicago's north side. It was here that I was exposed to the fundamentals of music theory: scales, the Krebs cycle, interpreting the grand staff, and music history. After my initial musical instruction at Weber highschool, I began guitar instruction with Ron Steta. Training with Ron in the late 1970's consisted of mainly rock and jazz fusion; focused primarily on improvising off of chord changes. Then on one sunday evening in 1979, I was watching Arthur Feidler and the Boston Pops orchestra with the classical guitarist Leona Boyd as guest soloist. She performed Vivaldi's concerto in D major as well as other musical selections. I knew, after being exposed to virtuostic classic guitar playing, that the musical technique that I was currently employing would soon to give way to another. This personal artistic metamorphosis was anything but ephemeral: it was an epiphany! Thus, ever since then I have been hard at work researching, learning, and performing classic guitar pieces from all musical eras (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern) at a variety of venues and locations.
