Ironhorse Outlaws are a fivepiece variety cover band performing your favorite classic rock, southern rock, country, and blues songs. We have an extensive multi-genre repertoire of nearly 200 songs. Our sets include slow songs, high energy rocking dance music and everything in between. Our interactive and fun show along with our excellent musicianship make Ironhorse Outlaws the perfect choice for any indoor or outdoor event! Meet Bill! He’s the rhythm guitar player and co-founder of the band. Born and raised right here in Central Virginia, Bill’s been playing guitar since age 13 and is a rhythm guitarist at heart. He has played in multiple groups over the years and with many friends. Bill loves Motown, the blues, rock, country, and southern rock. He prefers Martin and Gibson Les Paul guitars for his rhythm work. Dwayne’s got the beat! He may not be up front and center on stage, but his drumming is the heart and soul of the band. Providing rhythm and beat to every performance, Dwayne’s skill and talent make it look easy. He has been playing locally in a variety of bands and has recorded three albums. Dwayne has been inspired over the years by a variety of bands and artists but especially Steely Dan, Eagles, Boz Scaggs, The Police, and The Doobie Brothers. His biggest influence comes from his older brother, David, who has played drums professionally all his life until his recent retirement. Dwayne’s preferred brand of drums are Drum Workshop or DW as they are more commonly known. It’s all about the bass. Jay’s a master at laying down the baseline. He’s been playing music all his life, dedicated to bass guitar for the last 30 years. For many years, Jay has played on church worship teams. Raised on 70s and 80s rock music, some of his favorite bands are YES, Electric Light Orchestra, Styx, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Rush, Steve Miller Band and Eagles as well as newer bands like Shinedown, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Collective Soul, Three Days Grace and Halestorm. Though not raised on country music, he has learned to really enjoy playing it over the last few years. Jay says, “I’ve played in several bands over the years but by far this is the best group of guys I have ever played with!”. From a powerhouse rock anthem to a country two-step to a melodic ballad, Mike can do it all! He was born and raised in Richmond and has been performing in bands from the age of 16. Mike fondly recalls his first solo experience behind the wheel while driving to band practice. From an early age, music has been an integral part of his life, having inherited his musical abilities and flair for showmanship from his father and uncle. Mike has fronted numerous groups as lead vocalist and is especially drawn to tight harmonies. He enjoys performing with Ironhorse Outlaws because of the talent of each member, the spontaneity, and camaraderie they share. Meet Rick! You can say that Rick was born with music in his blood. A natural talent, Rick has played guitar his entire life. He was greatly influenced by his grandfather, a state champion fiddle player, and his uncle, a one-time Nashville sessions guitarist. Rick finds inspiration from guitar heroes Mark Knopfler, Kenny Vaughn, Chet Atkins, Eric Johnson and Stevie Ray Vaughn as well as bands like Eagles, The Doobie Brothers and Dire Straits. His go to guitar is a Gibson Les Paul, uses both Vox and Fender amplifiers and has an impressive pedal board. There isn’t a song Rick can’t play.
