Although we are a string trio of two violins and cello (or violin, viola, cello), we also play as a quartet, duo, or solo, including strolling violin(s).
Our repertoire includes classical, popular, show tunes, ethnic, and light rock and jazz. Mari loves gypsy violin and Norm excels at jazz and fiddle. Chris plays any style that is put in front of him!
Together, our players have performed in hundreds of venues in the U.S. and abroad. Performances include the Palm Springs Film Festival, Il Divo's 2014 tour of the Southwest, and the Fab Four Beatles Tribute Band.
Mari Haig, violin, (viola), has been concertmaster in tribute concerts for the Royal couple and for Queen Elizabeth's 60th Diamond Jubilee. She improvises solos for television theme songs, such as "The Bold and the Beautiful", which won an Emmy. Mari is a regular member of the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, and has played with Johnny Mathis, Stevie Wonder, and Mannheim Steamroller.
Norm Hughes, violin, has been featured on countless movie sound tracks, such as Zootopia, Inside Out, and Jurassic World, and has performed with the Pacific Symphony, Laguna Pageant of the Masters Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. He has recorded with Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Barry White, to name a few.
Chris Christensen, cello, performed in Walt Disney World, Florida, and is a regular member of the Disneyland Candlelight Orchestra in Anaheim. He is an active chamber musician in numerous ensembles throughout Southern California.
