Shindy is a Celtic music duo with Randy Miller (fiddle and accordion) and Roger Kahle (guitar and mandolin). Shindy takes an original approach to the traditional music of our Celtic heritage. Using a unique blend of creativity and musical skills, Shindy offers a sensitive and powerful performance that includes jigs, reels, airs, and waltzes from the Irish/Scottish/New England folk traditions. Since 2005, Shindy has been performing music professionally at dances, concerts, festivals, weddings, and sessions throughout New England and country. Randy Miller of Alstead, NH, has played fiddle, accordion and piano at contra dances and Irish sessions nation-wide for more than 35 years. He has recorded four albums of traditional New England and Irish fiddle music. Randy is the dance fiddler for The Inn at East Hill Farm in Troy, NH, and is the owner of Fiddlecase Books (founded in 1973), a leading American tune-book publisher. He has led workshops at numerous festivals throughout the U.S. and has been designated a "Master Teacher of Contra Dance Music" by the N.H. State Council on the Arts. Roger Kahle, a gifted guitar player noted for his use of DADGAD open tuning, is recognized as a top-notch accompanist for traditional fiddle music. Equally at home with Irish, Quebecois, and New England dance music, he combines colorful, lush chords with a remarkably steady beat. In addition to guitar and mandolin, Roger entertains as a foot percussionist. Roger Kahle is co-founder with Randy Miller of several weekly Irish music sessions in the New England's Connecticut River Valley, and resides in Saxtons River, Vermont.
