Our five piece band Old Man Flanagan's Ghost has been playing shows around the G.T.A and in Ontario, including sets at The Hard Rock, The Sound Academy, The Horseshoe Tavern, and The Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. We have performed several years at the Beach Celtic Festival, and were the featured entertainment at the 2015 Cobourg Highland Games. We have done private events of many types, including birthday and retirement parties, cocktail hours at weddings, and have provided acoustic violin and guitar instrumentals for wedding ceremonies (processional/recessional/signing). We feature a fabulous fiddle player, double bassist/tin whistler, Bodhran player, guitarist, and keyboardist. We play our own original material, as well as traditional fiddle tunes, covers of Irish/Scottish songs, east coast music and folk songs. Our independent debut 12-song album launched in May 2015, titled “Sociable!”, and songs from that album have been played internationally on podcasts and radio. We have been featured in Video Journals as well that promote Celtic Music worldwide.
Things to note about us:
We have been playing to live audiences in small and large venues for several years.
All of our members have been playing their respective instruments for decades.
Our album went to #1 on several weekly Top 30 charts and weekly folk charts across Canada on community radio stations.
Our album went to #4 on a weekly National folk chart
We are (as of Nov 6, 2015) ranked #1 on the Celtic charts for Toronto on ReverbNation.
We have a heck of a lot of fun, and help pub patrons or guests at private events have fun too!
In short, we bring a good time and encourage frolicking, singing, drinking, dancing and general merriment! It's always our goal to try and bring the best music possible to our listeners, keep the audience involved with many sociables (i.e., toasts) and we are always very professional (drinking, singing, dancing, frolicking professionals)!
If quality Celtic music is what you're after, we can supply it!
