Penny’s Playful Portraits Caricaturist from Cary, NC

“I draw caricatures that won’t have you running to your therapist the next day.” Your guests can expect an engaging, full-time “gig artist” who will create a cartoon portrait of your guests in a way that will make them smile, while entertaining your other guests as they enjoy watching her process. Penny has been an artist for most of her life, with a focus on portraits. Her mixed media style of art has given her invaluable experience in seeing and creating faces in many ways. This translates beautifully to her successful work as a caricature artist, who now brings her talent to the BASH community. When Penny draws for parties and events, she creates cartoon versions of your guests (never with distorted exaggerations!), and engages with them to make them comfortable and having a good time. She draws them in a way that makes them want to hang their pictures at home and fondly remember your event for years to come. Penny lives in downtown Cary with her beloved dog, Macy, who often follows her downtown to draw on the weekends. Penny’s love of interacting with people, coupled with communication skills and dependability will make her the perfect artist for your event. Penny is available to draw B&W or color (for smaller guest lists) on paper. NEW for 2024: 1) Digital Caricatures!!! Penny’s draws on her iPad, and the guests can view her process on a monitor and can download their portrait from a Google drive with a QR code provided at the event. Color 4x6 prints can also be made for an additional hourly rate as well. 2) “Drawing Caricatures” workshop: Penny comes to your business or club for a great team building or employee appreciation event, and teaches your guests how to draw a caricature of themselves, step-by-step!! She brings the supplies, the fun, and years of teaching experience to create a engaging class for all.
