Jodi Keogan is a seasoned cross-over artist and classical singer — guaranteeing to bring Broadway/Big Band to Opera to life for you in her performances. She performs the most beloved musical selections from the classic Great American Songbook, as well as scintillating selections from past and present Broadway shows. Her vocal agility allows her to sing a great range of songs and duets (on occasion her accompanist also sings) and Jodi's commitment to capture her audiences of all ages makes her a unique individual.
She just recently performed several shows encompassing Broadway music and songs from the Silverscreen in Italy and the Bahamas. In high demand, Jodi hangs her hat in both Florida and Connecticut, giving her the agility be travel from North to South — East to West is definitely not out of the question either.
As a child, Jodi was raised on Broadway music, singing her first "unscheduled performance" on a train at the age of 5 to passengers. Jodi was bored so she began singing up and down the isles to people she'd never met before and would probably never see again. They paid her in change and lifesavers candy. After that, she never stopped singing!
Beginning voice lessons with Maestro Pasquale Pappano and coaching with Anthony Pappano (during high school), who is currently the artistic director of Covent Gardens in London, Jodi quickly learned that to sing properly is to be able to perform just about any style of music - namely from opera to Broadway, to the Great American Songbook to Big Band.
Fast forwarding, Jodi was accepted into a highly competitive music program at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA prior to her senior year in high school. Here she expanded her musical breadth and sang master classes with esteemed members of the music community from the Metropolitan Opera.
After returning from university as a Voice Performance major, Jodi began singing in supper clubs performing cabaret style shows while simultaneously performing for the Grand Opera.
Jodi moved to Italy where she totally immersed herself in the Italian language so that she could communicate with the artistic directors and management of the venues in Italy. She landed lead roles both in the USA and Italy and most recently, was hired to perform a show, "From Broadway to the Silverscreen" in Italy. Her scope of performing in various countries around the globe holds no boundaries. Italy, Ireland, France, Canada, Philippines, Germany, Austria...to name a few.
Jodi can tailor your special event to meet your needs. Whether it be a happy occasion or a meditative one, the selection of music can be discussed with the client providing a mutual understanding of musical choices.
A duo or trio is just the beginning of the selection. Jodi can also provide other instruments with their group, e.g., brass, string, percussion, etc. to expand the dynamics of the music, providing the client with a fuller sound should they want that. Normally though, the she performs with either a pianist or a male singer (Baritone or Tenor) and pianist.
Performing in country clubs, peoples homes, churches, open-air band shells, restaurants, small and large stages, Jodi adapts to the size of the venue with great ease and agility. Communicating with the management of the venue and/or the client becomes a large part of the evening so that the needs of the client are always met, and most of the time exceeded.
Fees may vary depending on length of performance, time of year and the selection of group to perform (e.g., duo or trio or greater).
