Blue Light District Band Blues Band from San Mateo, CA

The Blue Light District Blues Band came together just a few years ago as a former house band for the renowned School of the Blues, in San Jose, California. They have since emerged as one of the most entertaining and talented Blues bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. Playing private parties is a specialty of the band. BLD is typically composed of 5 musicians: 2 guitars, harmonica, bass and drums. A saxophone can be added if requested, for more of a "big band" sound. There are 2 vocalists in the group. The band has gigged throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. From 2012-2013, BLD was the host of monthly Blues jams at the Poor House Bistro, in San Jose, one of the Bay Area's principal Blues juke joints. The band plays a dynamic mix of Blues, Americana, and related music; including Chicago classics, West Coast jump and swing, funk, boogies, and original compositions. We can tailor a set list to any requirements, whether it's a night full of dancing, or background music for dining or a reception. BLD has plenty of material, and musicians trained and skilled in the genre. We guarantee good vibes and good music at every performance.
