Plastic Mojo are a prize-winning duo (1st place winners, 2013 “Colorado You Got Talent”, 2017 Pikes Peak Blues Community representatives for the International Blues Challenge in Memphis), but when occasion calls for it they also perform as a full band, with the addition of drums and keyboard.
Fairlight Moriah is the lead vocalist, a petite lady with a powerful, sultry, wide-ranging voice, who has opened for and/or performed with well-known acts including John Hammond, Fireball, the Marshall Tucker Band. Joe King, playing guitars (bottleneck, baritone, 10-string, acoustic & electric) has developed a unique style, having started from a South Texas background including Western swing and Mexican dance music and developing through rockabilly, rock, folk, and a mix of other styles and extensive wandering, having opened for and/or played with, among others, BB King, Ian Dury, Ry Cooder, Freddy Fender, Derek Trucks, Webb Wilder, Col. Bruce Hampton, Tinsley Ellis, Los Frijoles Romanticos, Kim Stone. Together, the duo has opened for and played with Tab Benoit and Samantha Fish.
Plastic Mojo have developed a repertoire to fit any occasion, with songs chosen from acts ranging from Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, through Willie Nelson and the Rolling Stones, to Lady Gaga.
