Donna Ulisse & The Poor Mountain Boys Bluegrass Band from Nashville, TN

Country music fans remember Donna Ulisse from her days when she was signed to Atlantic Records in the early 1990's when she released a critically acclaimed album Trouble At The Door with three singles and two videos. She was also a guest on many national television shows including Hee Haw, Nashville Now, Crook & Chase and NBC's Hot Country Nights. Over the past several years, Ulisse has become a key figure in the bluegrass, folk & acoustic music scene as a singer-songwriter being one of the most played artists on SiriusXM's Bluegrass Junction channel. She has released seven albums of material which has charted prominently in the Bluegrass Unlimited, Billboard, Americana and Folk DJ national charts as well as the Euro-Americana chart. In the spring of 2014 she was a guest on RFD-TV's Simply Bluegrass television special, hosted by Ricky Skaggs and Grand Ole Opry star Bill Anderson and including a "who's who" lineup of bluegrass artists including Del McCoury, The Gibson Brothers, The Whites, Dierks Bentley, The Grascals, Bobby Osoborne and many more. Her 2012 Christmas album ALL THE WAY TO BETHLEHEM was called "a masterpiece" by Kyle Cantrell of SiriusXM. Edward Morris, writer for dubs her as "one of the most commanding voices in bluegrass music". As a songwriter, she has had her songs recorded by Claire Lynch, Larry Stephenson, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Nu-Blu, Darin & Brooke Aldridge as well as a song on the Del McCoury Band's 2014 Grammy winning album "Streets of Baltimore". She has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association for 2012, 2013 & 2014. She tours internationally with her band The Poor Mountain Boys, a stellar group of musicians including banjo, mandolin, upright bass, acoustic guitar and impressive harmony vocals. Her show features some of her original material along with many country and bluegrass favorites including performances by some of her band members. People come from all over the world to Nashville to hear singer-songwriters perform their songs in listening rooms like the Bluebird Cafe to hear the stories behind the songs.
