Blue Detour plays a blen of traditional and contemporary bluegrass favorites, as well as crowd pleasers done in a bluegrass style. Consisting of four pieces, guitar, mandolin, banjo and upright bass, we have had the good fortune of playing together since 1998. We have played showcases at major bluegrass festivals on the east coast. including Podunk (CT, Joe-Val (MA), Thomas Point Beach (ME) and the Long Island Bluegrass Festival (NY). We have also played at clubs, fairs and festivals throughout the NY metro area, including The Oyster Festival (Oyster Bay,NY) The Blue Point Brewery (Blue Point, NY),The Smithtown Heritage Fair and the Deepwells Fall Festival (St James, NY). We have played corporate events for the Polo Club of Old Westbury and The Fish Hatchery in Cold Spring Harbor. We have performed at barbecues and house parties, as well as weddings and cocktail hours. Our music represents good fun for people of all ages!

Blue Detour was an absolute pleasure to work with. Throughout the planning process the communication was great, always replying to emails within a short amount of time. They learned a song just for us, and were a huge hit at the party. Their music added such a lively and pleasant vibe. All of our guests loved them, and I would hire them again with no hesitation. The set lists were perfect for both background dining music as well as dancing. A great band, super professional, talented, and such a fun and friendly presence at the party.
