Gayle Wilson Singer from Ashland, OR

Jazz vocalist specializing in jazz & blues standards from the 30's and 40's. Gayle has an extensive repertoire fits in easily with any size group of quality musicians. If you're looking for a classy, qualified singer to front an existing jazz band, Gayle is the perfect choice. Currently, Gayle is working with several small jazz combos (3 to 5 pieces) and an 8-piece swing band. Work history includes concerts, clubs, jazz festivals and private events. An excellent bandleader/front person/emcee, Gayle is equally as happy just being the 'girl singer'. With a sparkling personality that's backed by a full working knowledge of the music she's performing (composers, bands, singers, etc.) Gayle is also familiar with a variety of instruments. She's a dynamite blues harp player and both reads and writes music. Gayle has written and performed four very successful stage shows (musical revues) complete with musical arrangements for a 6-7 piece backup band; 'The Life and Music of Rosemary Clooney', 'The Life and Music of Patti Page', 'Girl Singers of the Big Band Era' and 'The Lives and Music of The Andrews Sisters'. The latter involved two other female performers. I'm currently working on my 5th show 'The Life and Music of Doris Day' which will be performed in November 2007.
