Banjo Jack Guitarist from Santa Barbara, CA

Jack is a folk, country and bluegrass player. He is a professional, fast and furious banjoist. He is comfortable MC'ing for groups, and as variety, he plays excellent guitar and sings. Often he is hired solely to play bluegrass banjo or sit in with a group. He also plays harmonica, standards, to ripping blues with groups or solo. His harmonica has been called "very melodic, more than the run-of-the-mill blues..." He will use your sound system, but often plays unamplified in party and casual settings. He brings a sound system for a slight additional fee. Often Jack is featured for five or ten songs then seamlessly morphs into a pleasant background musician. He loves to play but is not a cover musician. Requests are not his thing. This is because he has worked up set pieces of some of the greats on banjo, guitar and voice. His eclectic songlists include folk and popular songs from the Beatles to Pete Seeger to foot-stomping renditions of bluegrass. Jack has been successful at initiating sing-alongs but does not push a party where it does not want to go. He reads the audience well and is happy to change direction as long as it is within his performance strengths. Jack can get a group humming, clapping and singing along in most settings.
