A teacher and administrator with the Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming, I make my living from piping. My large repertoire—beautiful slow airs, to rousing jigs and reels—will enable us to design music for your event that will be unique, entertaining and memorable. A professional musician with many years experience in performing, I am sensitive to the feeling of the moment, aware of ritual, and comfortable with improvisation, or last-minute changes.
For more than 25 years I have piped in competition pipe bands, Celtic rock bands, Breton bagads, bands performing Scottish and Irish traditional music, and as a solo piper for special events, including weddings, funerals, birthday parties, inaugurations, graduations and concerts. On several occasions, I have performed onstage with legendary Irish band The Chieftains.
Though I mainly play up and down the Hudson Valley, as well as Manhattan and the other New York City boroughs, I am willing to travel to your location. Besides the Great Highland Bagpipe, I also play Scottish smallpipes, border pipes, shuttle pipes, Flemish pipes, bombarde and pennywhistles. While there are many “weekend pipers” available to play your event, why not hire a musician who has made this music his life? Call me and we'll talk.
