Hearts were heavy upon hearing of actor Robin Williams’ passing on August 11th, 2014. The father, philanthropist and true funny man brought the country comic relief for over 35 years. So, Williams fans, what better way to pay homage than with a funny Halloween costume based on one of his many famous movie roles? We can’t help but think he wouldn’t want it any other way. Take a look at our suggestions for some inspiration!

Patch Adams

In this heartwarming film, Williams took on the role of unconventional doctor “Patch” Adams. Recreate this look with army green scrubs, a white lab coat and, of course, a red clown nose!

Professor Philip Brainard from Flubber

Who didn’t love the little dancing ball of green goo? Channel the nutty professor with a bowtie, wire framed glasses and an apron. Makeup can take the place of ashes for a “lab explosion” look! Don’t forget to carry a container of green slime as your Flubber stunt-double.

The Genie from Aladdin

This animated Aladdin companion is definitely a fan favorite. But how do you recreate the look of an animated character? Well, a long blue tee shirt, blue harem pants and a red belt will help. Use face paint or black eye liner pencil to draw on the famous beard! Bonus: bring a “magic lamp” with you.

Mork from Mork and Mindy

America’s most beloved alien. First, practice your “Na-Nu Na-Nu” greeting and handshake. Next, use silver paint or an iron-on fabric to make an inverted triangle on a red long sleeved tee. Throw on some red pants and voila! Add a “Mindy” for the perfect couple’s costume. Need a group idea? Tack on Fonzie, as Mork and Mindy was a spin-off of the classic Happy Days series.

Mrs. Doubtfire

Last but not least, the nanny you dreamed of. Mrs. Doubtfire will most likely be this year’s most popular costume, so join in on the fun. Head to your local thrift store for a floral print dress and cardigan. Large glasses, clip on pearls and a feather duster complete the look. Take it one step further and recreate the “face in cake” scene with cool whip or shaving cream - Hellllooo!

Thanks for the continued laughs, Robin Williams – we hope you enjoy this tribute!
