If you have read the original novel, or seen the new hit motion picture, you know why The Great Gatsby is all the rage. With the 1920s setting comes impressive mansions, extravagant parties and of course, the glamour of twenties fashion and style. What better way to celebrate the novel, book or era than to bring the Gatsby theme to your wedding?
Images from this Gatsby-Inspired styled shoot, captured by Luke Smith at Lone Pine Photography, show some fantastic ways to incorporate the roaring twenties into your big day.
To set the theme, start with sophisticated invitations using fonts true to the time period. You can even let guests know to don their most dapper twenties attire!
For the venue, think of choosing an antique hall or renovated mansion to create the retro atmosphere. Guests will be taken back in time when they see chandeliers and rustic furniture like those used in this photo shoot at the gorgeous venue, Brockington Hall.
The bride can channel 1920s fashion with a gown accented by tufts and intricate beading. Don’t forget the famous twenties hairstyles! Go with a sleek bun and jeweled head piece, or voluminous waves swept to the side.
A Great Gatsby wedding wouldn't be complete without elegant table accents. Roses, rhinestones and candelabras in a color scheme of bold red and gold represent the extravagance of the era. Wow eyes and taste buds alike with treats decorated in flapper attire, such as the ones pictured.
Don't forget to add some authentic 1920's entertainment by including a jazz band or ragtime band at your reception. The right music can really bring your celebration to life. Reviving the roaring twenties is a perfect way to mix creativity with elegance, but guests might have trouble deciding what’s greater - Gatsby, or your wedding!
