Despite the degree of lavishness last weekend’s Kardashian wedding achieved, there’s a lot about it that could have been predicted. For example, was it a big surprise that the bride had more costume changes than Diana Ross? Not really. Should anyone be shocked that the reality TV cameras rolled the entire time and many elements of the wedding were (*cough*) sponsored? Nope—par for the course, really. However, some musical details that are slowly emerging in the barrage of coverage this thing is receiving are actually sort of surprising.

Singer Robin Thicke introduced the couple and sang "Angels" for their first dance, while Earth, Wind and Fire also performed live. Then, a DJ took over but was asked to quit spinning early because locals complained about the noise. Sounds almost normal…not that everyone could have live entertainers but the choices are romantic, fun and crowd-pleasing.

The decision to cap off the night with a DJ is a good one and when neighbors complained about the noise, the party went on…just quieter.

As you plan your “I Do’s” learn from these lessons: 1) make your first dance song your own, 2) think about the rest of the guest for after-dinner grooving and 3) nothing closes down a night like the vinyl versions of everyone’s favorite jams. And for crying out loud – get your noise ordinance details in check before the big day so you can go as late as you like!
