Available as an acoustic duet or a power trio depending upon the event. (Willing to travel between Seattle, WA and Bend, OR). This multifaceted group is very versatile with a vast repertoire of original songs and cover tunes (ranging from R&B, Pop, Rock and Blues).
They've carefully crafted an eclectic fusion of Blues, Rock and Soul meticulously weaving the emotional authenticity of "Old School Blues" with the drive and thump of "Classic and Alternative Rock".
This powerhouse foundation is the very cornerstone of Butterfly Breakdown's sound. Building on that infrastructure with soulful vocals and heart stirring harmonies and you begin to get an idea of the sonic depths this group can reach.
ANASTASIA GILLIAM (Vocals, Percussion): Performing live for over 25 years with extensive experience as a studio session musician.
She's opened for a diverse range of concerts for: Yes, Randy Travis, Collective Soul, Cyndi Lauper and Pat Benetar. Anastasia has also performed on stage with Grammy Award Winners:
Cyndi Lauper, Jose Feliciano, Darius Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam.
ZAY HARRISON (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar): Performing in the Atlanta and Nashville areas for 12 years, writing, teaching music and performing in music venues, most notably, Eddie's Attic, Variety Playhouse, Tootsie's, Rubee's and The Bluebird Café before returning to Portland, OR.
She has worked as a studio musician producing, arranging, playing guitar, mandolin, blues-harp, singing lead vocals, background vocals and harmonies. She has played with some incredibly talented musicians over the years including;
Daniel Broome and Jeff Bridges, (Captain Soular Cat), Lisa Mann, Rick Holt, Dale Grohl, Chris Combs, Mark Meadors and with Alan Cecil of 'Pangaea' and 'Starship', worked and composed with Dana Coen, Blues-woman Lucy Hammond and legendary Producer Jim Troutner. Her path has crossed with Sarah MacLaughlin, Ray Charles, Diane Shuur and John Mayer.
An active writer she is currently working on her 3rd novel, a new screenplay, composing new music for television and movie soundtracks, working on a new album as well as teaching guitar and songwriting lectures.
MIKE TATRO (Bass): Active in the Southern California and Orange County music scenes for more than 40 years, Mike lent his guitar and bass skills to a diverse range of musical projects.
In the late '90s, he was a founding member and steel guitarist for the alt.country band Shuffledown. Shuffledown regularly performed at such notable So Cal venues as Linda's Doll Hut, The Roxy, and Whiskey-a-Go-Go.
In 1999, Shuffledown recorded a self-titled EP produced and recorded by Dennis Danell (Social Distortion) at his Casbah Studios in Fullerton, CA.
In 2009, he left So Cal to pursue a better life among the vines in Oregon wine country. Since then he has played bass with legendary Portland surf band "The Verbtones" and old school R&B band "The Home Fries" before joining the Butterfly Kaleidoscope.
