Bahler's Golden Age Band Bluegrass Band from Kokomo, IN

Bahler's Golden Age Band features the best family harmony singing in the state, and expert picking to boot. Band leader Brad Bahler is a long-time festival musician and stringed instrument teacher. His wife Karen plays upright bass and sings a powerful alto harmony. Their sons John and David Bahler play guitar and fiddle. John, who does most of the lead singing, performs full-time as a solo musician and is the music director for the Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour, now entering its third season on WTCA (Plymouth, IN) and WVPE (Elkhart, IN). The only member not in the family is Alec Hurtubise, who became a local legend as a child prodigy banjo player and is now playing hotter than ever. The band is a perfectly built 5-piece bluegrass band, with mandolin, guitar, fiddle, banjo, and upright bass, and they also throw in some other styles, like old-time, country gospel, rural swing, brother duets, shaped-note hymns, and more, giving their band a classic sound with rich variety. They play a number of festivals, most notably the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival, where they have performed every year since the festival started, and the Indiana Fiddler's Gathering, where Brad and Karen have played with this band for 20 years. If the full band is a little too much for your event, different configurations are available. John and Brad perform father-son duet shows, and John plays solo sets as well.
